THREE people were lucky to be alive last night after their car plunged down an embankment and landed on its roof in a ditch.
A man and a woman suffered minor injuries, while a second man was taken to hospital suffering from severe injuries.
The car they were in came off a narrow road running along the South Gare promontory road, on the outskirts of Redcar, east Cleveland, at midnight on Thursday.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "The vehicle left the road, went down an embankment and ended on its roof.
