YOUNG cellists will today audition for a place to perform alongside renowned musician Julian Lloyd Webber.
Mr Lloyd Webber will perform at the Tees Barrage on Saturday next week and is looking for talented youngsters to join him.
Hopefuls will demonstrate their skill at The Arc, in Stockton. Those who are successful will play I Don't Know How To Love Him from the musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
Mr Lloyd Webber said: "I thought it was a good idea to involve young people. Children hear pop music all the time but classical music is a blank area and I want to raise awareness.
"It should be good fun. I will play the tune and the other cellos will accompany me."
The musicians will audition for a panel of judges including British Waterways orchestral manager John Milgate and Tim Ellingford, from BBC local radio.
