A MOTORCYCLIST died on a country road at the weekend.
The rider, who has not been named, was killed when his 600cc Honda bike was in a head-on collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction.
The accident happened at about 6.30pm on Saturday on the B1257 Hovingham to Helmsley road, about a quarter-of-a-mile on the Malton side of Hovingham, in North Yorkshire.
The motorbike was heading in the direction of Helmsley when it collided with a blue Peugeot 406.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two occupants of the Peugeot were shaken but unhurt.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the crash, or the vehicles before the accident, to contact them on (01609) 783131.
