Under-11s to Under-18s: The week started off well for the club with the Under-13s winning away to Dawdon.

Castle Eden batted first with Keith Bailey carrying his bat with 54 not out supported by Johnny Malkin 25 and Johnathon Brown 18 not out. Finishing on 125 for only one wicket. Dawdon were all out for 36. Excellent bowling figures from Callum Harding, two wickets for eight runs, Craig Thirlaway three wickets for ten and especially Ross Kirtley bowling three overs - two maidens, one run for four wickets with help from a superb performance from wicket keeper and captain Johnathon Brown stumping four.

A day later the Under-11s were away at the same ground Dawdon. Castle Eden batting first with a fantastic 115 for one wicket. Top scorer and captain with 23 not out Mark Grufferty helped along Michael Robson, 20 not out, David Cowey, 22 not out, Gareth Elliot 20 not out, all these batsmen having to retire having scored 20 runs each. Andrew Sullivan six not out and Lee Greener three not out finishing off the innings. Dawdon were bowled out for 15 runs because of some very good bowling figures from Lian Wintrip two wickets for 0 runs, Lee Greener one wicket for one, Michael Robson two for one, Phillip Winpenny one for one, Hayley Clark one for one, Hayley Clark one for one, the only girl in either team and especially Matthew Cook three wickets for just one run. Christopher Noble taking his first ever run out at wicket keeper capped a marvelous performance all round.

The Under-15s were not so lucky but went down fighting all the way to the wire just getting beaten on the last ball of the game to Silksworth. Silksworth batted first and put a very respectable score on the board with 107 for just one wicket. John Gray taking the only wicket for the home team. Christopher Tudball batted all the way through with an excellent captains innings of 56 not out with help from Johnathon Brown 22 and Kieron Clark 15 not out. Castle Eden needed six to win or a four for a draw but they only managed two runs with the ball being stopped just before the boundry.

The Under-18s did not need any luck in their home game versus Boldon. Boldon batted first and found it hard going with 86 all out because of some outstanding bowling from Christopher Tudball taking three wickets for ten runs backed up by even better bowling from Anthony Hart four wickets for 13, twice going close to a hatrick. Captain John Spellman (Jnr) 26 not out, and Wayne Glaister 21 not out easily batting us through to 87 for one to round off a good week for the young cricketers of Castle Eden.
