Bishop Auckland and District League: Crook Coach and Horses A slipped to only their second defeat of the season when they went down by three points to the visiting Bishop Auckland Snooker Club B. The home side had a singles point each from Michael Burke, David Haygarth and Aaron Cowan, whilst the visitors established a good lead with two points each from Kevin Stewart and Michael Hoggart, with Paul Willey, Paul Stewart and Steve Balanaves adding one each. The Coach took the doubles through David Haygarth and Lee Scott before Michael Burke and Michael Hoggart shared the captain's games.

Bishop Auckland Derby made a good odd point home win over Tow Law Station with two singles points each from Chris Peacock and Michael Richardson with Andrew Delve and Colin Gash adding one each. The Station had two points from Lee Cullinan and one each from Steven Maughan and Anthony Hird. The Derby clinched victory when Kevin Hopton and Michael Richardson won the doubles but Lee Cullinan beat Chris Peacock in both captain's games to make the score respectable.

Spennymoor Ash Tree remain at the top with a four points advantage over Crook Olde Horse Shoe, who are now nine point in front of Crook Coach and Horses A.

Crook League

Crook Olde Horse Shoe A asserted their superiority in the top of the table clash when they went 12 points clear by beating the visiting second placed Crook Travellers Rest B by four points. The match looked to be going to a very tight finish when the scores were tied at five each but the Shoe then took the final four frames for victory.

The Olde Horse Shoe A had two points from Stephen Liddle and Chris peacock with Cliff Owens, Dave Leighton, Gavin Witton and Brian Johnson adding one singles each to add to the doubles from Witton and Johnson. The Travellers singles points came from Jimmy Singlewood, Neil Campbell, Michael Burke and Jim Ainsley with Ainsley and Singlewood adding the doubles. Crook Belle Vue are eight points behind the Travellers.

In the Second Division Crook King's Head missed the chance of strengthening their second place when they lost by four points to the visiting Crook Spitfire Club. The home side had two points from Kevin Carter and Stuart Miller with Andy Palmer and Stephen Dawson adding the doubles. The Spitfire's points came from Gordon Walker, Rob Grayson and Mark Callaghan with two each, whilst Eddie Phillipson and Ian Wilson added one each with Dean Rowntree joining Walker to take the doubles.

Crook Coach and Horses B moved 35 points clear at the top of the Second Division with Crook King's Head in second place, two points ahead of Howden Australian.

Low Spennymoor Victoria put up a good performance on their visit to Spennymoor Quinns Inn before going narrowly down by two points. The Quinns had singles points from K. Ellis and J. Ball but the visitors went ahead with wins from T. Johns, T. Plummer and S. Lee. The Quinns came back strongly to take both doubles with wins from S. Lynn with K. Whitehead and K. Ellis with J. Ball. D. Elliott completed the victory for the Quinns when he beat T. Johns in the captain's game.

Spennymoor Voltigeur lead the table by six points from Spennymoor Hillingdon B, with Spennymoor Football Club a further two points adrift.

Tow Law Football Club slipped to their second defeat of the season when they went down in the deciding doubles at Tow Law Station. The home side had singles wins from Stephen Maughan, Alan Ogilvie and Christopher Reed whilst the footballers replied through Charlie Donaghy, Lee Cullinan and Terry Ginty. After the first two doubles were shared the Station won the decider when Christopher Reed and David Fernandez beat Terry Ginty and Jim Day.

Newhouse Club's hopes of landing the Championship in their first season took a severe knock when they only took three points from their visit to Tow Law New Market B. The home side had singles points from Tom Hauxwell, Gavin Tennant, David Spencer and John Beveridge, whilst the Club's points came from Rob Day and Ian Dinsdale.
