A CRACKDOWN on littering in Darlington will shift its focus to the Cockerton area today.
Uniformed wardens from Darlington Borough Council will be targeting the shopping area and nearby streets.
Street-cleaning and litter-picking teams are carrying out extra rounds in and around the area throughout the day.
Wardens are authorised to issue £50 fixed penalty notices to anyone found littering in Darlington.
They have already imposed fines on hundreds of people for littering and fly-tipping since the council's anti-litter campaign began last November.
