CHILDREN in Stockton are encouraged to head for libraries during the summer holidays to take part in a national reading scheme.
The annual Reading Challenge, for youngsters aged four to 11, will begin in Stockton on Sunday and run until September 1.
This year, the challenge is called The Reading Maze and follows a theme of adventure, discovery and mystery in six books.
Everyone who joins will be given a Maze collector folder, including activities, quizzes and a book mark.
Children will also be able to log on to the national Reading Maze website to compliment the challenge at www.readingmaze.org.uk
