Quoits players from across the country travelled to the region at the weekend for the 2003 World Championship Quoits Matches.
Competition was fierce during the championships, which was held at Beamish Open Air Museum, near Stanley, County Durham.
Thirty teams competed for the pairs titles on Saturday with the winners father-and-son team Colin Gray, of Goathland, North Yorkshire, and Lawrence Gray, of Whitby.
On Sunday, Paul Dixon, 25, of Sneaton, near Whitby, defeated Ian Carr, 36, of Whitby, to win the singles title for the sixth consecutive year.
The championships were organised by the National Quoits Association and were sponsored by Queens Court Business Centres, of Teesside and Wearside, and the Charles Bathhurst Inn, of Arkengarthdale, North Yorkshire.
