THE next phase of work has begun on a business complex in Darlington.

A 277-space car park is being built to cater for the growing number of businesses which are moving to Lingfield Point, in McMullen Road.

The main contractor for the work, expected to finish next month, is Ballast Construction NE.

Four Seasons Health Care (FSHC) has recently moved 60 staff into 13,300 sq ft of newly refurbished office accommodation and Capita is moving 400 staff to Lingfield House, which is currently undergoing significant work.

Coats Crafts UK, part of international company Coats, has also added a further 30,000 sq ft of warehousing to its distribution facility.

Eddie Humphries, Lingfield Point estate manager said: "The arrival of Four Seasons Health Care and Capita means Lingfield Point, and particularly Lingfield House, is well on the way to having a full house of tenants, and we are looking forward to having them join us on site."
