WORK on offices for the National Council for Education (NCFE) has led to an award for Work Interiors.

The Newcastle interior designer has been recognised by The Association of Interior Specialists (AIS) for the quality of its work on the Citygate offices of the NCFE in Newcastle.

The accolade recognises the high levels of craftsmanship and design of the Work Interiors team who created a contemporary and open plan environment to complement NCFE's fast growth, and to improve inter-company communication.

The project, based in the heart of Newcastle's regeneration area, was finished on schedule and is accelerating NCFE's business aims.

Work Interiors director of contracting Peter Day said: "On receiving our brief we conceptualised a design that clearly expressed NFCE's vision.

"We set out to create a more relaxed, modern and enhanced work environment, and we were pleased to provide a solution that is open-plan, bold, and extremely light."

NCFE director of business Peter O'Hara said: "Work Interiors has created the ideal surroundings to meet the needs of our people.

"We are welcoming an unprecedented number of visitors who describe our offices as fabulous.

"The fit-out period was very short and the Work Interiors team were a pleasure to work with and couldn't do enough to help."
