PUPILS have been taking part in a series of activities to learn more about the cultures of other youngsters and people from around the world.
The youngsters, from White Mere Community Primary School, Felling, Gateshead, have been learning how to make Chinese dragons and play African drums.
Each class at the school, which has 195 pupils aged four to 11, covered a different culture in their classes during the week, including the Egyptian, Indian, Chambakouli, Sikh, Jewish and African cultures.
They also made masks, played and listened to traditional music, made costumes and tasted food from around the world.
Margaret Hampton-Matthews, the school's music and cultural ambassador said: "The week was very successful and interesting for the children to experience.
