SPORTING doctors will be raising money for hospital patients by bowling over a town's cricketers next week.
Doctors at Bishop Auckland General Hospital first turned out against a cricket club XI to raise money for a scanner appeal 18 years ago.
The tradition of playing an annual match has continued since then, and thousands of pounds have been raised for other projects at the hospital.
The next fixture is on Sunday July 27, starting at 10am.
Admission to the event is free. There will also be a bouncy castle, face-painting and other children's activities, and an oriental meal served up by the players' wives.
Anyone offering support can contact Dr Kash on (01388) 455028, or Ken Coyle at the cricket club on (01388) 603375.
