Northallerton College has received another Sportsmark award in recognition of commitment to PE and sport.
The plaque, from Sport England, was presented by Chris Whincup, a local businessman who has built vital links between the college and Northallerton Rugby Club.
Alistair Macrae, joint head of PE, said: "We are very proud to have been selected for this award. It shows we have policies and practices for a well-balanced PE programme, for out-of-hours sports activities and for bridging the gap between college and sport in the community.
"In an age when poor diet and obesity are growing problems it gives us the chance to encourage a healthy life style."
He thanked Mr Whincup for helping secure £400 of National Lottery cash for sports development at the college.
It has provided coaching and reference material on rugby, including books, videos and CD-ROMs. The college won a Sportsmark in 1999.
