TWO teenagers will fly to Spain this week to represent Great Britain in a major sports tournament.
Scott Hathaway and Emily Surtees, both pupils at St John's RC Comprehensive School, in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, will take part in this year's International Catholic Student Games.
On Friday, they will travel via Madrid to Salamanca, where they will compete against more than 12 countries in the tournament.
Both are swimmers who have been county, regional and national school champions, and are looking forward to their first trip outside Britain for a competition.
Emily, 16, of Hunwick, has been swimming since she was nine, and travels daily to Middlesbrough to train.
Scott, 15, of Bishop Auckland, trains with Derwentside Swimming Club, in Consett, every day.
