A DIVISION of equipment rental specialist Vp has made its fourth acquisition in three years in a £2.7m deal.
Groundforce - which specialises in the rental, sale and design of shoring systems and allied services to the water, civil engineering and construction industries - has bought Trench Shore Ltd, of Tring, Hertfordshire.
The Harrogate, North Yorkshire, company saw turnover in the year to March increase from £8.6m to £11.3m, and expects the acquisition to boost sales by a further £4m a year.
Trench Shore, which provides similar products to Groundforce, has depots in Maidstone, Kent, in Hilton, Derbyshire, and in Cheshire.
David Williams, managing director of Groundforce, said: "One of the main drivers behind the deal was our ambition to increase our presence in the South-East and to improve significantly our access to the Midlands market. Trench Shore is an excellent geographic fit."
Customers of both companies will now have a wider choice of products.
