MAGISTRATES have agreed to a delay in the case of a man arrested as part of Operation Ore, the trans-Atlantic investigation into Internet child pornography, after his lawyers pointed to discrepancies in the evidence against him.
Francis Mingay, 47, appeared before Harrogate magistrates yesterday accused of possessing indecent photographs of children in Ripon on December 7 last year.
Mr Mingay, of Southgate Avenue, Ripon, also faces ten charges alleging he made an indecent photograph of a child.
All the offences are said to have occurred in Ripon between March 18, 1999, and December 4, last year.
Simon Ostler, prosecuting, said the Crown needed to study defence representations on variations in the evidence relating to the strength of the alleged pictures involved.
Mr Mingay was bailed until July 29.
