HERE comes the bride, but will Shelley say "I do" or "get lost" to bridegroom Peter Barlow in Coronation Street (ITV1)? The happy couple have a few things to sort out beforehand. Their pre-nuptial agreement needs to include such topics as the wife and baby about which he's carelessly forgotten to inform his fiancee.

And has Peter remembered to invite Lucy the florist and her new-born infant to the wedding? Unlikely, as he's neglected to tell Shelley about his previous marriage and forgotten to get a divorce.

Quite honestly, I wouldn't like to be the vicar when he reaches the bit in the ceremony where he asks if anyone knows why Peter and Shelley should not be joined.

The wedding day brings out the best and worst in other Weatherfield residents. That minx Tracy Preston comes a Cropper - Roy Cropper - as she sets out to prove her theory that no man is 100 per cent faithful. Having failed to drag the hapless Roy into bed and with his wife Hayley conveniently away, she slips date rape drug into his champagne and offers to help him back home. What goes on back in the bedroom will have dreadful repercussions for all and sundry. And the thought of Tracy and Ray at it will scare many youngsters.

Meanwhile, Ciaran gets down on one knee. Not to recover the ring that deceived Shelley has thrown down in disgust, but to propose marriage to Sunita. Fellow suitor devious Dev will not be pleased.

Marriage is on the mind of Phil Mitchell too in EastEnders (BBC1). He plans to ask Kate the ex-undercover manicurist to become the new Mrs Mitchell. But he's reckoned without psycho nanny Joanne trying to ruin his romantic plans yet again.

Dirty Den the second is in a bad way, although not such a bad way as gangland boss Dalton whom he shot. He's having trouble coming to terms with what he's done. The soap police, a modern incarnation of the Keystone Cops, arrive to interrogate him. Gold-digging Janine is succeeding in pulling the wool over the eyes of Barry the most boring man in soap.

She has managed to get dinner, jewellery and a sport cars out of him, although being nice to Barry is a very high price to pay.

Getting cosy with Paul in the Portakabin - how romantic - when Barry returns unexpectedly could put a spanner in the works. Trouble too for Garry when wife Lynne decides to leave him (again) just as Laura, the woman he's impregnated, gives birth to a baby boy.

Scott and Syd are at loggerheads in Emmerdale (ITV1) over baby Jean's paternity. The former accuses the latter of encouraging him to come clean so that he could snatch Scott's girlfriend Chloe - the woman who carelessly dropped Jean on her head - for himself.

The increasingly-demented Chris Tate grows ever suspicious about wife Charity's relationship with Cain, especially after she spends an evening with the Dingles. Anyone who elects to spend time in the company of Emmerdale's answer to the Beverly Hillbillies clearly has an ulterior motive.
