YOUNGSTERS with stars in their eyes can win the chance to work in television with a new competition.
Teenage support service Connexions Tees Valley is running the Making It contest with Bell Media for people aged 13 to 19.
Entrants have to produce a short videotape recording. The 20 best performers will attend a two-day media summer school next month.
They will also be filmed for a reality TV show to be broadcast in the autumn.
The winner and four runners-up will be announced at the Connexions Tees Valley anniversary party in September. They will receive video and editing equipment.
Martin Barrett, marketing manager at Connexions, said: "The original idea was designed to give young people across the Tees Valley real opportunity to get an insight into career opportunities within the television and film industries, but this project has really surpassed all expectations."
Those interested need to apply before August 15.
