THE youngest pupils at Fishburn Primary School had an extra reason to celebrate as they broke up for their summer holiday.
A National Lottery grant of £4,906 has paid for a play area for the school's nursery unit, where staff organised a special party with games and ventriloquist. The school's infants classes were given a mini-adventure playground two years ago but, because of falling numbers and a budget deficiency, had to turn to the lottery for extra cash. Melanie Blackburn, at the nursery, was instrumental in winning the funding.
