A GROUP of North-East building workers have raised more than £800 for an international charity by spending part of their leisure time climbing more than 3,000ft to the summit of Hellvelyn in blazing sunshine.
Staff from Lovell Partnerships North-East office in Stockton took up the Munro Challenge to climb the Lake District's second highest mountain to help the Water Aid charity.
The group consisted of contracts manager Mark Connor, from Redcar, project manager Franz Hutcheson, from Durham, assistant site manager Jason Molnar, from Stockton and joiner Mick Bingham, from Hartlepool.
There was also surveying administrator Tracy Brook, senior quantity surveyor Chris Pallister and his 13-year-old son Chris, from Redcar, and quantity surveyor Simon Noel, from Newcastle.
Most of the Lovell team are experienced hill walkers but the challenge was made much tougher because the climb was completed while temperatures were at least 30C.
