A 16-YEAR-OLD was raped as she walked home.
A police spokesman said the teenager had returned from Newcastle to Washington by bus at 9pm on Tuesday.
She was taking a short cut to Washington Old Village after getting off at the Washington bus station, when a man dragged her into bushes and raped her.
The attacker may have been driving a dark red car.
He was described as 40, with blond hair, wearing a navy top, blue Levi jeans, a green Kagoule and brown shoes.
