Three people are recovering after their car left the road and crashed into a tree.
Emergency services were called to Beechwood Gardens, Lobley Hill, Gateshead, shortly before 2am yesterday. Firefighters cut off the roof and both front doors of the Ford Orion to get at the occupants. The driver suffered two broken legs and his passengers bruising and shock. All three were taken to Gateshead's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
