CHILDREN at a Darlington nursery are getting closer to nature by painting a huge mural in their playground.
Creepy crawlies are emerging at the town hall's Kids & Co Nursery, with the aid of art and design students from Darlington College of Technology.
It is part of a topic being studied by the youngsters, who are learning about the variety of insects in the garden.
They are now busy using sponges to paint the playground wall with a blue background, on to which 4ft insects will be painted over the coming weeks.
