The following cases were heard at Bishop Auckland Magistrates Court yesterday:

OFFENCES ADMITTED: The case against a man who admitted three motoring offences and obstructing a police officer, has been adjourned until September 3, for reports.

Gary Singlewood, 28, of Wharton Street, Coundon, also admitted stealing bedding and curtains from Yorkshire Trading, in addition to driving without a licence or insurance, and driving with a defective tyre.

ASSAULT CHARGE: Derek Brian Anstey, 26, of Queen Street, Barnard Castle, admitted assaulting a police officer. The case was adjourned until August 27, for reports.

DRUNK AND DISORDERLY: A man has been fined £75 and ordered to pay £55 costs after he admitted being drunk and disorderly outside a wine bar in Barnard Castle.

Mark Jason Vayro, 24, of Eden Crest, Gainford, admitted the offence.

HANDBAG THEFT: A teenager has admitted stealing a woman's handbag and mobile phone while she was dancing in a pub.

Anthony Neil Kearsley, 19, of Coronation Avenue, Shildon, admitted taking the bag at the Queen's Head pub, Bishop Auckland, on July 26.

The case was adjourned until August 27 for reports.

DRINK-DRIVER: A farmer has been banned from driving for three years after he drove his tractor while over the legal limit for alcohol.

Steven Greenbank, of High Middlefield, Durham Road, Stockton, had 63 microgrammes of alcohol recorded in 100 millilitres of breath, when he was stopped on the B6299 at Crook. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol.

Greenbank, 24, was also fined £200 and with £55 costs.
