A MOTHER and her daughter are to stage a 22-mile sponsored walk between two of the region's resorts in memory of three relatives who died from cancer.
Carolyn Lavagna, 48, of Elm Grove, Whitby and her daughter Nina, 27, are to raise money for St Catherine's Hospice, Scarborough, and its Heather Unit, at Whitby.
Mrs Lavagna's brother, Terry, died from cancer last September just months after her sister, Maureen. She also lost her father, George, some years ago.
She has already won support from several businesses and individuals in Whitby for the marathon walk across the moors, from Scarborough to Whitby, on Saturday, September 20.
Anyone wanting to help is asked to contact Mrs Lavagna on (01947) 604293.
