Loftus retained their top of the table position after seeing of the challenge from Norton.

Despite reducing their opponents to 106-9 Loftus lost eight wickets and were indebted to Ian Dixon for a top scoring 31. Towards the end of the innings Midgley added 20 and Whitwell 22. Brooks was in excellent form with the ball for Norton and in 12.4 overs he took six of eight wickets for 59 runs. His performance was overshadowed by Chris Barritt for Loftus. He returned figures of eight for 35 in 16 overs as Norton reached 106 for nine including 30 by Hurst.

Hinderwell are second and they had four wickets to spare at Brotton. Faced with a target of 147 they were indebted to Lyth who opened the innings and was still there at the end undefeated on 50. His opening partner Theaker scored 26 and assisted by no fewer than 31 extras, Hinderwell completed their tenth win of the season even though Broughton took three for 44 and Yeoman three for 37 in the Brotton attack.

Batting first, Brotton posted 146 all out which included 42 by Ayling and 40 from Richardson while for Hinderwell, Bowes claimed three for 35 and Swain three for 54.

Staithes entertained Paragonians and realised 237 for four before applying the declaration when Ward completed his 100. He ended unbeaten on 102 and Allen added 76 to the big total while for Paragonians, Hughes took three of the four wickets to fall for 48 runs.

When they went into bat Paragonians found runs hard to come by and they managed only 99 before the innings ended. Theaker captured four wickets for just 12 runs and Hall had two for 29.

Ormesby Hall drew their game with The Merlin whose last pair were at the wicket at close of play. The home side were only 101 for nine of which Caldwell scored 30 and Mee 28 as the batsmen struggled against the bowling of McCabe who took four for 27 and Peacock with four for 32.

Batting first, Ormesby Hall ended with 200 for seven on the board and five went to Moss for 98 runs. After making an uncertain start to the innings, Ormesby Hall recovered to end with a formidable total on the board.

Dormans had just 24 runs to spare defeating Normanby Parklands. Dormans realised 163 all out of which Patton contributed 50 and Pearce 32 before Bruce added a valuable 33. McGough was in splendid form with the ball for Normanby Parklands claiming seven wickets for 68 and Reader took two for 38.

When they went into bat Normanby Parklands never threatened despite Mead opening with 27 and Reader adding 21 assisted by 25 extras, the innings produced 139 all out as Ichbal captured five for 24 and Dale four for 38.

Broosbeck lead division two and they have six wickets in hand defeating Normanby Parklands who are all out for 84. Ward returned figures of three for 12, Baynes claimed four for 24 and Lorraines two for 45 for Broosbeck who went onto win condeding just four wickets three to Dower at a cost of 38 runs. Ward was still there at the end on 30 and Brown contributed 22 to the Broosbeck total of 85 for 4. Moorsholm are second after seeing off the challenge from Ormesby Hall by a margin of 30 runs.

Batting first Moorsholm ended with 140 for seven including 36 by Weetman and an unbeaten 51 from Allison. For Ormesby Hall nobody did better than Ghafoor with five for 40.

Responding, Ormesby Hall made a reasonable start through Matt Newman with 32 and Spilane but the innings eventually stuttered to 110 all out as Allison captured five wickets for 20 runs and Hucker five for 26.

Blacksmiths Arms were all out for 115 in 35 overs when they made further use of the wicket in their home game with New Marske. Peter Campbell scored 33 and for the visitors Alderson returned four for 36 in 9.3 overs and Porritt three for 24. Hallgarth introduced a second change, picked up two wickets at the cost of 19 runs.

Replying, New Marske won by five wickets in 22 overs as Porritt hit one six and five boundaries in 28 and Robson carried his bat for 37 with six boundaries. Hann was the most successful bowler in the Blacksmiths Arms attack taking two wickets for 31 runs.

Loftus defeated Dormanstown by five wickets. Faced with 138 they were indebted to Gullen for 64 and to Tyreman who carried his bat for 36. Hatch had a good day with the ball claiming three wickets for 40 runs. Batting first Dormanstown posted 138 for nine including 31 by Johnson and 30 from Lloyed who worked in productive partnership for the second wicket. Collins carried his bat for 25 and in the Loftus attack none did better than Carr whose four wickets cost him 31 runs. Shaw gave admirable support claiming three wickets for 31 runs.

Skelton Castle were all out for just 76 visiting Cowpen Bewley who won by 52 runs. Barlow took nine wickets for 30 runs in the Cowpen Bewley attack. For the visitors Hurst with 31 out of a total of 76. when Cowpen Bewley batted first they totalled 128 all out with Hallgarth returning five for 45 and Stubbs three for 32. Atkinson made 57 for the homeside and Laing added 22 batting at number three.

Staithes scored almost 200 runs in only 32 overs but Dormans still won the Bass North Cleveland League Kerridge Cup Final when they had just two wickets and three balls to spare.

Alan Pearce, with seven boundaries in a top scoring 45 and Steve Patton with 39 led the way in the Dormans reply.

Richard Ward bowled well conceding just 14 runs in 2.3 overs for two wickets and Stuart Theaker took 2-29 from no fewer than eight overs, but Dormans still came out on top.

Batting first, Staithes made 198-7 on their own groud. Richard Ward had two sixes and six boundaries making the game's top score of 52 and Richard Horne contributed 30. Kenny Holland was the most successful bowler in the Dormans

attack, taking three wickets for 62 runs.
