Middleton St George are still out in front of Division A after they dismissed Aldbrough St John for just 56 in 28 overs.

Rory Wood made 21 of the small total as man of the match Hussain took eight for ten in nine overs five of which were maidens. Middleton St George needed only 11.3 overs to secure the necessary runs and lost three wickets in the process. Steve Rogers contributed 26 with two sixes and three boundaries and all three wickets to fall were taken by Rory Wood for 32 runs in six overs.

Barton are second and they enjoyed a big victory at home to Witton le Wear.

Batting first, the home side realised 231 for seven as the runs flowed from Lockey (30), Barker (35) and T Frankland (80). Pheasant who opened the innings, made a useful 24 while for Witton le Wear Jones claimed four of the seven wickets at a cost of 136 runs. Nelson took two for 58 as the visitors utilised just three bowlers in their attack.

When they replied, the visitors were all out for 73 as J Frankland returned four for 20, P Frankland three for 20 and Headon two for 32. Top scorer for Witton le Wear was Jones, who went in at number three and contributed 26.

Barningham totalled 163 for eight but still lost to visitors Rockcliffe Park. Rockcliffe Park lost their two openers for a combined total of just ten runs before Fiddell (38) and Hart (54) put together a profitable partnership for the third wickets. Swanick kept up the good work scoring 20 as a match winning 164 for six was achieved. Kearton took three of the wickets to fall for 52 runs with Mossford, French and Walker all taking one wicket.

When they made first use of the wicket, Barningham made an indifferent start before Lowes added momentum to the innings carrying his bat for 70. Newton contributed 24 and 29 extras propelled the total to 163 for eight. Peter Swanwick returned three for 63 and Garbutt three for 67 in the visitors' attack.

Raby Castle overtook the Ingleton total of 102 all out losing just three wickets. Wilson, who went in first, was still there at the end undefeated on 48 and Scaife contributed a useful 19 runs. Selkirk captured two of the three wickets to fall for 19 runs.

Batting first, Ingleton were grateful to scores of 20 apiece by Wood and Mike Batey but when Jones introduced as first change, soon got among the wickets and ended with five for 20 the innings collapsed. Poole captured three for 46 and Scaife two for 25 in the Raby Castle attack.

After scoring 120 for eight Haughton went down by five wickets to Cliffe. Rodgerson scored 28 and Curry an undefeated 27 for Cliffe who were assisted in their total of 124 for five by 25 extras. Wilkinson took two of the wickets for 34 runs and both Edwards and McGuire claimed one wickets apiece.

When they made first use of the wicket, Houghton had opener Spark in form and he scored 32 before being bowled by Adamson. Wilkinson ended undefeated on 31 as Adamson ended with four for 46 and Rutherford three for 34.

Heighington were sent back with only 88 on the board and opened Riley was undefeated on 37 when they met Cockerton for whom Leafe returned eight for 47. The other two wickets were credited to Glew at a cost of 21 runs.

Despite losing an early wicket, Cockerton were never in danger as Tomlin (26) and Farrow (41) put together a useful partnership for the second wicket and victory was achieved with six wickets remaining. Boocock took all four wickets to fall at a cost of 50 runs in 14 overs.

Rockcliffe Park are ahead of Division B and they had five wickets remaining when they over took the Eryholm total of 103 all out. The home side's innings included no fewer than 37 extras as the batsmen struggled against the bowling of Edwards, who captured six for 39 and Flood with three for 35. Lowe then held the Rockcliffe Park innings together ending unbeaten

on 30 which together with 20 by Pounder led to a five wickets victory. Walker conceded just 15 runs taking three of the five wickets to fall.

Catterick Village are second and they enjoyed an easy victory at home to Middleton in Teesdale who they bowled out for just 48. Todd who opened the innings, scored almost half his team's runs contributing 23 and for Catterick Village Swainston claimed five for 20 and Oselton two for five.

Replying, Catterick Village romped to 49 for two as Lacey added 22 giving the innings a good send off. The two wickets which fell were claimed by Walker at a cost of 13 runs.

Middleton Tyas are third and they had just six runs in hand of Lands. Batting first, Middleton Tyas posted 124 as Howe claimed seven for 52 and Dalton two for nine. Campbell with 44 top performed with the bat for Middleton Tyas and in reply, Lands were all out for 118 which included 25 by Elstob. Campbell was in top form with the ball for Tyas returned seven for 46 and Baxter captured the other three wickets for 55 runs.

Heighington entertained Dales and it was the visitors who won by a six wickets margin. Faced with a target of 134, they made an indifferent start before Wallace (26) and Bowers (40) retrieved the situation. Bowers then partnered Richardson (24no) in an unbroken partnership for the fifth wicket and for Heighington, Jamieson took two of the four wickets to go down for 54 runs.

When they batted first, Heighington found the three man Dales attack in good form. Hird took four for 33 Wallace three for 39 and Hutchinson two for 52 as a total of 134 was realised. Most of the runs came from Ainsley with 32 and Overfield who added 47.

Spennymoor were all out in 25.3 overs with just 80 runs on the board when they visited Spennithorne and Harmby. Collingwood had six boundaries in 28 but the visiting batsmen were troubled throughout by the accurate bowling of Connel Fowler who had a hat trick in seven for 31 taken from 12.3 overs.

The home side had no problems when they replied and victory was secured with the loss of just wicket in 15.2 overs. Vince Graves struck six sixes and three boundaries carrying his bat for 57.

Despite restricting Trimdon CCA to only 68 East Cowton lost seven wickets and needed 23 overs before securing victory. Danny Carter top scored with an unbeaten 19 for Trimdon whose total included 24 extras while for the home side, Andy Whitfield took six for 21 in 12.3 overs including four maidens and Brian Tucker had five maiden from his 12 overs stint which yielded four for 39.

Young was another bowled in good form for Trimdon CCA and when he captured five wickets for 17 runs in 11 overs including four maidens East Cowton had to work hard for victory and were indebted to Whitfield for his valuable contribution of 21 and to Alistair Wilkin, who had one six and two boundaries carrying his bat for 17.

In Division C Brompton on Swale defeated Raby Castle by nine wickets. Nicholson with five for 20 and Leybourn whose four wickets cost just ten runs, bowled out Raby Castle for just 49 before McGough contributed 41 to the Brompton total of 50 for one.

Runs were also scarce for Cliffe in their game with Houghton. Cull returned four for 28, Dobinson three for 22 and Norman Sturman three for 16 when Cliffe were back in the pavilion with just 89 runs on top. Burgess with an unbeaten 39 and Cooper who carried his bat for 43, swept Haughton to a ten wickets victory.

Runs were more plentiful for Barningham but not for Lands when they met. Metcalfe (33) and Foster (31) top performed leading Barningham to 132 for eight as the wickets were shared by Galston with five for 48 and Little whose three wickets cost 58 runs. Responding Lands could only manage 59 as Hutchinson returned three for eight and banks three for 25.

After dismissing Trimdon CCA for 86, Cockerton were our for 62. Lee scored 30 of the Trimdon total as Longmore returned four for 24 and Carroll three for 35 for Cockerton who found the bowling of Gorton and Carter too much to handle as the pair shared the ten wickets.

Trimdon Colliery and Deaf Hill batted second and overtook the Barton total of 103 with five wickets remaining. They had Craggs in good form at making 32 and in the Barton innings almost half the total was contributed by Kearney, who carried his bat for 51. Strong had an excellent day in the Trimdon attack taking seven for 47.
