Castle Eden Juniors ended the season on a good note with victories for both the Under 13s and the Under 15s.

The Under 13s were at home to Bill Quay and batted first with Keith Bailey scoring 30, Jonathan Brown 22 not out and Johnny Malkin scoring an excellent 60. To help to a total of 135-1.

Bill Quay found it hard going with some excellent bowling from Gareth Elliott taking two wickets and David Correy, Keith Bailey, Chris Freeman, Johnny Malkin taking one wicket each. There was some good support in the bowling from Liam Winship, Michael Robson, Ross Kirtley, Andrew Cowey and Ryan Winship.

Captain and wicket keeper Jonatahn Brown also took three stumpings. Castle Eden won by 36 runs.

The Under 15s played away to Murton and batted first. Danny Greener top scored with 26 finishing on 89 for seven with some very good bowling from Craig Williams, Ryan Winship and Craig Bean all taking one wicket each and Chris Freeman, Johnny Malkin taking two and Keith Bailey finishing with three for just nine runs.

Some excellent fielding from Justin Bradshaw, Johnny Gray and captain Chris Tudball kept Murton's score to a minimum finishing on 49.

Castle Eden first and second teams had a great weekend with Under 18 players playing a big part. LJ Brown carried his bat for 23. John Spellman Jnr 47 and 54 not out and Richard Ede took five wickets to help them through to the Franks League Cup Final.

For the seconds team Wayne Glaister and Chris Tudball took five wickets each and Anthony Hart took three wickets.

It has been a successful season for Castle Eden.
