A WEEKEND sports school for children will be launched in Darlington next month.
Stagecoach, the part-time theatre school, is setting up a sports scheme, Sportscoach, in the town.
It will be based at Hummersknott School to offer Saturday morning sessions from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Nine different sports will be played each term.
Stagecoach principal Trudy Hindmarsh said it was open to all youngsters.
"Like Stagecoach, we take anybody, no matter what the innate ability. It's about confidence-building as much as anything."
An introductory summer workshop is taking place at Hummersknott School from August 25 to 29. For information call (01325) 335740.
Nationally, Stagecoach has announced it will give four per cent of its profits each year to help children of all abilities enjoy the arts.
