Kirby Sigston lead the table after they completed a weekend double.

On Saturday they dismissed Hutton Rudby for 187 but went onto win losing just two wickets when opener Thompson carried his bat for 79 and Cowton who also went in first contributed 74.

Batting first, Hutton Rudby had Green (58) and Irvine (76no) in particularly good form and Alexander contributed a useful 25 before the innings closed. Seven of the 10 wickets were taken by Clarkson who captured seven at the cost of just 64 runs.

Broughton and Kirby visited Scruton who they dismissed in 32.5 overs with just 60 runs on the board. Andy Smith and John Harris were the bowlers who dominated the Scruton innings with Smith taking six for 27 from 16 overs, four of which were maidens while Harris had equally impressive figures of four for 16 from the 8.5 overs he delivered.

Broughton and Kirby wasted no time securing the necessary runs in 18.2 overs losing just one wicket, that of Robinson for 24. Scott batted throughout and finished with 29 not out including three boundaries.

Ingleby Greenhow were all out for just 94 at Skelton Castle. Fawcett top scored with 40 and for the home side, Hogarth took six for 30 and Stainthorp three for 13.

G Stainthorp was in good form with the bat when Skelton Castle made first use of the wicket. He contributed 67 and R Stainthorp 29 before Himsworth added 20 before having to retire. A total of 202 for six was posted with Fawcett claiming four wickets for 93 runs in the Ingleby Greenhow attack.

Stafford Place went down by 46 runs at home to Crathorne for whom Marshall with 45 and Samarag (32) lead the way in a total of 149 for nine which also included 21 by Swailes. Iveson claimed four for 27 and Smith three for 43 for Stafford Place, who, when they went into bat managed 143 all out which included 35 by opener Connor. Lawrence added 22 but generally the batsmen were well contained by the three-man Crathorne attack in which Bruce captured five for 26, Clemmitt three for 59 and Howard Leng two for 12.

Maltby enjoyed a massive 218 runs victory over Swainby. When they batted first, Maltby ended with 247 on the board which included 33 from Morrow, 49 by Hutchinson and 69 from Callan. Assisted by no fewer than 31 extras, Maltby almost reached 250 even though Shinwell bowled well in the Swainby attack taking seven for 87. The two other wickets to fall were captured by Hill at a cost of 70 runs. In reply, Swainby were sent back with 29 runs. Baines took three for three, French three for 11 and Stringer two for six with the other wicket falling to Barber at a cost of five runs.

Runs were more plentiful at East Harlsey when they entertained Chopgate. Batting first, the home side realised 221 for three after the two openers had gone cheaply, East Harsley recovered through a second wicket partnership through Hill who carried his bat for 91 and Willey (67). Brown then formed another productive stand for the third wicket with Hill and Brown ended unbeaten on 30 out of a total of 221 for three. Riaz captured two of the wickets for 86 runs. In response, Chopgate managed only 108 all out including 41 by Holmes. Willey was also in good form with the ball and he claimed six for 28.

Kildale overtook the Thimbleby total of 125 for eight. Opener M Pearson contributed 40 and Blackett 28 before J Pearson finished on 25 out of a total of 129 for four. Barningham captured two of the four wickets to go down for 26 runs.

When they batted first, Thimbleby lost their openers for a combined total of 127 runs before Cowton added 36 and Ward later made a similar score but the total of 125 for eight was insufficient. Dan Doughty took three for 39 with Dave Doughty, Thompson and Brooks claiming one wicket apiece for Kildale.

In Sunday's programme, Kirby Sigston maintained their place at the top defeating Crathorne by five wickets. Neil Kendrew was their match winner with the ball as he captured seven for 24 restricting Crathorne to 94 all out. Chris Cowton led the Kirby Sigston reply scoring 36 and Paul Harper carried his bat for 35 even though Howard Leng took four for 35 Kirby Sigston won comfortably.

So too did East Harsley at Ingleby Greenhow where they went past the home side's total of 134 with six wickets remaining. Willey was in splendid form ending undefeated on 76 and in the Ingleby Greenhow none did better than Rob Cameron-Clark who contributed 59. John Grainge claimed five of the wickets for 40 runs and Willey took four for 56. Runs were plentiful when Hutton Rudby entertained Maltby and it was the visitors who won by a margin of 47 runs. Batting first, Maltby posted 211 for eight which included 55 by Frank, 47 from Morrow and 33 by Hall while for Hutton Rudby, Paul Coombs produced the splendid analysis of six for 61. In their reply Hutton Rudby had Jon Leather (47) Andrew Pattison (33) and Matt Cook (46) all in form but the innings eventually closed on 164 as Stringer claimed four wickets for 33 runs.
