THE latest phase of work to upgrade Darlington's Dolphin Centre starts next month.
The £70,000 scheme will involve installing a translucent water slide and a new toddler pool.
The slide, featuring water jets, will replace the present slide, which has been in place for 15 years, but has not been used since April. Work will be carried out overnight to ensure minimum disruption to centre users.
During the work, all pools, except the toddler pool, will remain open to the public.
Work is expected to take abut three weeks and the new attractions will be open to the public by mid-October.
Councillor Eleanor Lister, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for leisure, said: "The new slide and improved toddler pool will offer even more great attractions for visitors to the Dolphin Centre.
