Durham League: Nevilles Cross and Newton Hall, who have been in a promotion spot from the Second Division both slipped up badly and threw their move up into jeopardy when they both lost.

Addison Park whitewashed the visiting Wheatley Hill to take advantage of the slip-ups to move to the top of the division.

Leeholme placed one hand on the Championship trophy when they only dropped two points to the visiting Pelton Fell and now lead Crook Glenholme by ten points with only two matches remaining.

Murton ended their relegation fears from the Second Division after beating the visiting King George V by six points. The home side won by 76 shots to 62.

Mainsforth clinched the Third Division title when they only dropped two points at Fishburn WM Club. Willington Spectrum only dropped two points to the visiting Cockton Hill to move into second place. Spectrum won by 82 shots to 58.

Spennymoor A shot to the top of the First Division when they whitewashed their hosts at Leeholme. Sherburn, who have led the division for weeks, slipped to third place after they were held to a draw at Cockton Hill A. Crook Glenholme moved up a point behind Spennymoor A after they whitewashed the visiting Willington team.

Leeholme went down at home to Spennymoor A by 40 shots to 76.

In the Second Division, King George V ended their relegation worries when they whitewashed their hosts at Durham City. The home side went down by 42 shots to 61.

Addison Park clinched the Second Division Championship when they only dropped one point to second placed, Chilton. However Chilton seem almost certain to take the runners-up spot as they lead Langley Park A by eight points.

Bishop Auckland moved five points clear at the top of the Third Division when they only dropped one point at Belmont, who slipped to third place, three points behind Cockton Hill B. Belmont lost by 53 shots to 67.

Cockton Hill are proving to be the most improved team in the league and they lived up to their new reputation when they beat the visiting Spennymoor by the odd point despite being weakened by the absence of two players. Cockton Hill won by 70 shots to 69.

Both the League Championship and the runners-up spot seem destined to go to these two teams, although there will be a tight finish to decide which team takes which prize, as Spennymoor are now 7 points behind Vane Tempest.

South West Durham League

Spennymoor A lost for the second time in four games yet still hold a commanding lead. Opponents Shildon Railway are unbeaten in seven during which time they have moved up to third. After losing two in a row Mainsforth bounced back and a victory over Shildon Town A has moved them into second spot.

After four games and four defeats Bishop Auckland were bottom of division two. Seven wins in the last eight games have seen them claw their way to the fringe of the promotion battle though they have probably left it too late to mount a serious challenge.

SWD Vets Double Pairs Knockout

Sherburn reached the final when they won a tight match against Dean Bank by 36 shots to 31.
