ADVICE workers are setting out their stall in a supermarket to shop for volunteers.

The Wear Valley Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is marking Advice Week from Monday by holding daily sessions in Bishop Auckland's Asda store, in keeping with its theme - Help is at the Heart of Your Community.

They are in the optical suite on Monday from 1pm to 3pm, Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm, Thursday from 5pm to 7pm and on Friday from 10am to noon.

There is also a quiz offering people a change to test their skills by using the CAB's information resource, log on to www.adviceguide.org.uk

Copies of the quiz and free Internet access are available at the Four Clocks centre, in Newgate Street, and at libraries.

Prizes have been given by Asda, Marks and Spencer, Boots and WH Smith.

Peter Singer, CAB business and development manager, said: "We hope these advice week initiatives will not only demonstrate the kind of help and support the bureau provides in the local community, but will also highlight the fact that we need more volunteers to keep the bureau running in the Wear Valley."
