The Federation Special Durham Senior League and the Durham Coast League tied when they met in the Under-15 Division at Seaham Harbour.

Batting first, the Coast League posted 112 which included 35 by Drewry and 21 from Purewal while Eppleton's Scott Borthwick returned five for 25. Keiron Waterson of Philadelphia picked up a couple of wickets at a cost of 34 runs before top scoring with 32 when the Durham Senior League replied with 112. Bailey claimed three for 13 and O'Neill four for 15 in the Coast League attack. It was the first tie in the competition for 14 years.

The leaders Durham County League hosted the Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League at Etherley and won by a margin of 52 runs. Atkinson (52) and Dinsdale with 27 were both in good form for the County League and for the N and T League, Tweedy had two for 26 and Hudder four for 13.

When they went into bat the N and T League were all out for 109 which included 50 by Chris Gray while in the County League attack, Moralee returned three for 14, Atkinson two for 19 and Close two for 26.

The County League also had the better of the N and T League at U15 level when they sides played at Blaydon. Faced with a target of 93, the County League were indebted to Carl turned for his unbeaten 31 and to Alderson who made 30. Chris Tilley took three for 21 and Stuart Tiffin two for five for the home side who batting first ended with 92 for nine on the board. Paul Straker top scored with 26 and in the County League attack, Tinkler returned two for nine, Forster two for 15 and Hall two for 24.

The N and T League also lost when they met the Federation Special Durham Senior League at U18 level. John Lee contributed 65 and Mark Stoneman 26 to the N and T League's total of 162 with Forster taking three for 25, Fiddell three for 21 and Elliott two for 24.

When they DSL replied they made 163 losing just three wickets. David Lowther of Eppleton remained unbeaten on 67 and there were useful contributions from Richard Potter with 23 and Foster (20).

League Under-18s

South Shields met neighbours Marsden in a rearranged fixture which had earlier been cancelled because of the weather. Marsden batted first and ended with 82 for four on the board which included an unbeaten 23 by David Stewart while for South Shields, Michael Dunn claimed two of the four wickets to fall for just five runs. When they replied, South Shields reached a winning margin losing just three wickets as Greg Fiddell contributes a top scoring 22.

The Readers Durham County League Under-15

Willington had just six runs to spare defeating Brandon. When they made first use of the wicket, Willington realised 121 for two which included 48 by Stephen Broadley and 29 from Lee Tinkler.

When they went into bat Brandon went close but only managed 115 for four. Anthony Calve was their top scorer with 44 and Stephen Wallace contributed 32 before Jason Green carried his bat for 20. John Alderson with two for 16, was the pick of the Willington attack.
