BELEAGURED Oldham manager Iain Dowie admits he doesn't know if Saturday's game at Hartlepool was his club's last.

The club, currently in administration, have to convince the Football League that they have £1.2m in place to fulfil this season's fixtures - or face the prospect of being forced into liquidation.

But Dowie, who led the club to the play-offs last season but only to a single victory this season, confessed he is in the dark when it comes to knowing if the club will carry on.

Officials are hopeful the Football League will grant them a stay of execution and give them more time to raise the funds. If they don't then the club will be suspended from the Football League.

Notts County could also go out of business this week and if Oldham suffer the same fate, the Football League would expunge their record from this season's table - meaning Pool would have a point deducted from their nine-point haul.

Blackpool, Brentford and Brighton would all lose three points, while Sheffield Wednesday would also lose a single point.

"If I'm honest, I don't know what the full financial situation is,'' Dowie confessed. "Things have gone on, but I haven't been involved in the discussions.

"All I know is I have a group of lads who are 100per cent committed to the club and if anyone deserves a future it is them.

"I don't like it, the costcutting measures are starting to take affect and we are just trying to be as professional as we can.

"Everyone is chipping in, there's some fantastic people around the club - I just hope there is a future for us.''

He added: "Hartlepool is a tough place to come - it's a decent set-up - and it's pleasing for me that we created a lot of chances and never looked like conceding. It was two points dropped for me.''
