AN army of volunteer walkers will take residents on health walks over the coming weeks, in an attempt to get them to take regular exercise.
The Health Walks Gateshead scheme consists of short two-mile circular urban walks, designed to get people exercising without having to travel to rural settings.
The scheme has been targeted at people who do very little physical activity or none at all.
