A BORED soccer fan who was arrested after nodding off as his team were beaten by Arsenal will face a trial.
Sleepy Adrian Carr landed himself in court after he dozed off as his beloved Middlesbrough were thrashed 4-0 by the Gunners in a Premiership match.
The engineering machinist could end up with criminal record and lose his £400 season ticket after he was arrested by police at Boro's Riverside Stadium.
Mr Carr, 28, of Middlesbrough, Teesside, had worked an early morning shift and then drank six pints before the Sunday afternoon match last month.
But as his team were given the runaround on the pitch, Adrian decided to take a snooze.
When a steward managed to wake him at the end of the game he was arrested for being drunk in a sporting arena.
Mr Carr, of Caithness Road, Teesville, Middlesbrough, appeared before magistrates in the town yesterday and pleaded not guilty to being drunk in a sporting arena.
The case was adjourned until October 28 when a trial will take place.
Mr Carr said yesterday: "I am gutted but I will fight for justice."
