OUTGOING Nato secretary general Lord Robertson has been appointed as a director of engineering group Smiths.
Lord Robertson, who steps down from his post at Nato at the end of this year, will become a non-executive director of the London group on February 15 next year. The appointment follows an announcement in June that Lord Robertson is to become deputy chairman of telecoms group Cable and Wireless.
