Spennymoor made a fine start to their new season in the Russell Foster Youth League Division One.
Despite only having 11 players available due to holidays and injuries they defeated Newton Hall 8-0. Goalscorers were a hat-trick from Jason White, a Michael Gibson double and a goal each from Ross Molloy, Adam Watson and Matthew Whittle. A special word of praise goes to Todd Franey who was outstanding as a stand-in goalkeeper for the match.
