TWO men raised more than £200 by having their legs waxed.
Shaun Airey and Gary Donald went through the ordeal at Redhall Community Centre, in Darlington, on Tuesday night.
Their fundraising ordeal was staged to raise money for children's play schemes on the estate.
Mr Airey works as a part- time play worker at the community centre.
He organises Saturday morning football sessions for youngsters, with the help of Mr Donald, who is a parent.
Both men had agreed to have their legs waxed from above their knees to their ankles.
Mr Airey, 26, said: "Quite a few came to see me suffer, but to be honest it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
"It took an hour and a half to do, because my legs were so hairy."
Anyone who wants to make a donation towards the October half-term play schemes should contact the Community Centre, in Headingly Crescent, on 07876 682754.
