GIRLS from a Darlington youth theatre group are getting to grips with curling tongs to look the part for their second production next week.
An all-girl cast from St Augustine's Youth Stars present Louisa M Alcott's Little Women at the Parish Centre in Larchfield Street, at 7.30pm next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The drama follows the joys and the sadnesses of the March family in 19th Century small town America.
Producer Kath Heskett said: "The biggest heartbreak has been written out in this adaptation. Unlike the original, Meg, Jo and Amy see their sister Beth survive her illness. It is a lovely story for all the family."
Tickets are £4 and £3 from Williams Music Shop in Darlington, the tourist information centre, or from Christine McKeown on (01325) 266501.
