PRIMARY school youngsters are starting their footballing season with new kit thanks to generous parents.
A fundraising drive for a school strip was given a boost when parent Angela Race completed the Barnard Castle 10k race.
Mrs Race, 32, raised £206 for the fund. The remainder of the cash needed for the strip was donated by the school's Friends group.
Mrs Race said: "It was hard, but I enjoyed doing it because this is such a good cause.''
Fellow parents Maureen and Dean Clark also gave the youngsters two pairs of goalkeeper gloves and a kit bag.
