Willington Boys: Lewis Hope scored a double hat trick - six goals - for the Under-15s in their 7-1 victory at home to Whickham in the first round of the Russell Foster Junior League Cup. Nicholas Elliot was the other scorer for Willington, with Joe Fairish man of the match.

Willington Under-16s lost 3-0 to Swalwell in their league cup tie. Michael Taylor and Graham Lazenby were joint man of the match for Willington.

Spennymoor Boys

Spennymoor Under-14s progressed to the second round of the Durham FA County Cup with an excellent 6-2 away win against Hartlepool St Francis.

They overcame a taller and more physical set of opponents by concentrating on trying to play football throughout the game.

Christopher Jones making his full debut scored four goals. Further goals were added by Michael Gibson and Craig Thompson. Adam Watson justified his man of the match performance by never flinching despite being the smallest player on the pitch. Also praise must go to the referee who managed to keep a lid on things during a heated second half.

Darlington Mount Pleasant Rangers

THE Under-13s, sponsored by Weathertight Windows played away in the league against local rivals Albion Boys. After a hard fought battle they were sadly defeated 8-1. Rangers scorer was Tom Helibron and man of the match was Stewart Leighton.

The Under-12s, sponsored by Cable, played away in the League against Redcar Town. Rangers struggled to win balls in the midfield in this game, even after scoring within the first two minutes. Redcar exploited this weakness. Rangers fought back in spells but it was not enough to gain any points. Redcar Town won 4-2. Rangers scorers were Ben 'BT' Turnbull and Ayden Carrick with man of the match was going to Craig Swainston.

The Under-11s, sponsored by Direct Glass & Door Panels (Darlington), played away in the league against Hartlepool Juniors. Rangers played very well against a strong Hartlepool team. Rangers won 4-0 with Johnny Harte (2), Matty Able & David Woodward scoring. Rangers man of the match was Ashleigh Leighton.

The Under-10s, sponsored by MKM (Darlington), played away in the league against Newton Aycliffe SC B. Rangers conceded an early goal but levelled two minutes before the break. Rangers came out the stronger team in the second half and went on to win 3-1. Rangers scorers were Paul Helibron, Danny Longstaff and Rangers man of the match was Stephen Richardson.

The Under-8s, sponsored by LEX Transfleet, played away in a friendly against Greatham. Rangers dominated from the start and won convincingly 3-1. Rangers scorers were Danial Shaw (2) and man of the match was Sam Guest.

In another friendly that followed Rangers were defeated 1-0. Rangers man of the match was Connor Bedford.

Darlington RA Juniors

Darlington RA completed a league and cup double over local rivals Darlington Albion, winning 5-2 in the County Cup. Liam Allen scored the only goal of the first half, tapping the ball home from a rebound off the crossbar.

Shortly after half-time Jack Ridley doubled the RA's advantage with a shot that nearly broke the net, the third goal saw Liam Allen complete his brace with a precise volley from 20 yards. A clearance from Albion's keeper fell to Dave James on the half-way line who returned it first time over his head for the fourth, prompting manager Ian Mellor to substitute him for his cheek.

The scoring was completed by man of the match Tom Watson who smashed the ball into the roof of the net for his first of the season.

The RA play another local team, Spraire, in the next round of the league cup at 1.30pm, Brinkburn Road, this Sunday.

Darlington Albion

The Under-10s were at home against Bedale Albion Under-10s and played two games. Game one was an open and exciting game with an excellent performance from Jack Scarr up front who scored all six goals, Albion winning 6-3. Game two was a very close game with a 1-1 draw being the final result. Albion scorer was R. Lewis.

The Under-13s, sponsored by Digital Communication Systems, played their first derby of the season at home against Mount Pleasant Rangers. Expectations were high in the Albion side who produced their best display this year. The whole team played with commitment to produce a 9-1 win. A good display with some classy moves as well as passionate defending. Man of the match was Craig Watson who supplied some excellent through balls to the scorers who were: Phillip Caley (4), Theo Farquharson (3), Simon Sung and Danny Potts.

The Under-14s were away to Darlington RA in the Durham County Cup. A good first half by the Albion with RA managing to score just before half time. The second half saw some lucky breaks for the RA, resulting in Albion losing 5-2 in an evenly contested game. Albion scorer was Elvin Webley (2) and man of the match was keeper Thomas Neill.

The Under-15s played with only ten men and entertained Billingham in a very physical contest which resulted in man of the match Richard Metcalfe being felled in a challenge as he was going for goal in the second half. The game was stopped whilst he was stretched off with a broken leg. All the teams in Albion FC wish Richard a speedy recovery. Down to nine men, Albion continued to fight a losing battle having previously matched the vistors before the accident, Albion goals came from Andrew Wood (2) and Michael Martin from a penalty. Praise must be given to the whole side for the way they dug in to keep the opponents score down to 5-3.

Trimdon United Juniors

The Under-11s side suffered a 5-0 reverse at the hands of Nunthorpe Athletic, but there was better results for the other sides.

At Under-12 level, they beat Seaton Carew 3-1, the under-16s beat Darlington Spraire Lads 4-0 and the under-18s played a goalless draw with the same opponents.

Darlington Allstars

Fantastic passing and a controlled midfield ensured the Under-13 Colts earned a tremendous win in the Durham County Cup. They took on South Shields Timberline in this weekends Cup-tie and the Colts started slowly, but in the second half were quick to dominate the game and come away with a 2-0 victory even without their regular keeper. This was a well deserved victory. Scorers were man of the match Mark Ellerton and Adam MacDonald.

The Allstars Under-12s came out strongly against North Ormesby, dominating the game, with some tremendous passing. Sean Simpson, from defencem scored a fantastic hat-trick, Lee Gibbon converted from a corner and Jamie Kilday scored a cracking goal from outside the box. This was a well deserved 5-0 win for the Allstars with the majority of the squad contributing to this Allstars victory. Sean Simpson was man of the match.

Allstars Under-10s' 2-0 win over Norton and Stockton was an evenly contested affair which was a fantastic advertisement for junior football with good end-to-end play, but the Allstars fought hard and came away with the points. This was another well deserved Allstars victory with Andrew Wilson and Adam Jackson scoring and Liam Riley man of the match.

Marton Hall took the lead in the first half against the Under-15s through a corner, but the Allstars worked hard and kept themselves in the game. In the second half, Robert Moore equalised with an excellent free kick to score his debut goal for the club. Marton Hall got a breakthrough goal to take the lead and the points, but this was a fantastic display by the Allstars and a tremendous defensive display by man of the match Richard Hughes.

The Allstars Under-16s started well against Newton Aycliffe Youth, controlling the game with a fine midfield display. In the second half, Newton Aycliffe came out strong and managed to score the only goal of the game and took the points. Philip Grainer was man of the match.

The Under-11s were hosts to Teesside Athletic and turned on the magic in this home league game. Luke Thomson and Daniel Thomson scored two a piece and Josh Phillips made five for the Allstars A well deserved 5-2 win and another fine performance from the Allstars. Josh Phillips was man of the match.

The Under-11 Colts started strongly against New Marske Juniors with some fantastic contol and passing and this was reflective in the 5-2 final score. This was an excellent performance by the Allstars. Scorers were Danny Burn, Jack Woodcock, Mark Tweedey, Thomas Robson, Jordan Greaves and man of the match was Philip Wake.

The Under-16s Colts took an early lead against Brompton with a 60 yard lob from new signing, George Burton. Against the run of play and on the stoke of half time, Brompton equalised. After a quiet start to the second half, the Allstars began to dominate the game and Danny Pugh scored after a strong run down the wing and shooting from outside the box. Sam Campbell scored in a goalmouth scramble and in another goalmouth scamble, George Burton scored his second. This was a well deserved win and showed true commitment from the whole squad. Chris Woods was man of the match.

The Under-13s Allstars visited Under-14s Hilda Park in the County Cup. The Allstars took the game to the golden goal and played well against a strong team, but were unfortunate to lose the tie 3-2.

In a very physical game, the Allstars Under-12s Colts worked hard and did not deserve to lose 4-1 against Ferryhill Town. The game was evenly matched and the score is not reflective of the final result. Robert Fox scored and Nick McStravick was man of the match.

Barnard Castle

Barnard Castle Under-15s started their first home game of the season against Tees Valley Juniors in spirited mood after last week's defeat in the cup to Second Division opposition.

They attacked Tees Valley to no avail and from their first attack Tees Valley got a corner, that was badly defended allowing a soft goal to the opposition.

Barney hit back, striking the bar on ten and 12 minutes before man of the match Cliff Kirkbride scored after 13 minutes with Andrew Scarr following up with a goal on 17 minutes.

Kane Mitchell narrowly fired over the bar before Tees Valley sneaked two goals with the second squirming under goalkeeper, PJ Barnes' body.

Down 3-2 at the halfway point, Barney started after the break with renewed vigour with Andrew Scarr scoring again to level the sides. Tees Valley struck back on 51 minutes regaining the lead before Cliff Kirkbride completed a hat-trick with two cleverly worked free kicks that both resulted in goals. Stout defending and ball possession from the whole team prevented Tees Valley from adding to their total with Barney running out 5-4 victors.

Houghall Community College Under-10s

Results: Houghall Community College 2, Kilder Park 1 (two goals for top scorer Liam Aitchison and man of the match was Ryan Ward).
