All the monthly medal winners over the season competed for the top position in their respective divisions on Sunday and the leading scores were as follows:

Division One: Roger Parry (3), 71 Andrew Gatenby (4), 72 Scott Wilson (9).

Division Two: 68 Heath Johns (17), 72 Dan Murdoch (14), 73 Michael Wood (11).

Division Three: 74 Marco Cucurullo (21), 78 Colin Smart (23), David Hennesey (16) card countback required.

Medal Final Ladies

The same format as the men except that the ladies medals are played over a longer period so that there are more competitors. The best gross scores in Division One was Gillian Petrie with a 79 and in Division Two Ritchie returned a gross 90. Leading scores as follows:

Division One: 73 Shirley Bibby (20), 75 Liz Stubbs (15) 76 Gillian Petrie (3).

In the second division the nett 60 returned by Janet Hulse saw her handicap reduced from 35 to 28.

Division Two: 60 Janet Hulse (35), 69 Margaret Ritchie (21), 70 Dulcie Exelby (30).

Seniors

A new venue, Durham City Golf Club, and a new prize, The John Ward Trophy, were the highlights of this years seniors outing on a day of perfect weather and a course in excellent condition. To complete the day the club captain David Blades joined the outing and to keep them on the correct path the Competition Secretary David Brown also came along as a guest.

The morning competition a nine hole Am/Am was won with 49 points by the team of K Godden, L Kitching K Langford, and D Ward.

The 18 hole afternoon Stableford for the seniors captain Alec Crow's prize and the John Ward Trophy was won with 36 points by 82-year-old Norman Routh followed by 35 points, John Carr 34 points, Kevin McCourt and Trevor Robotham.

Yorkshire Rabbits Golf Association (Harrogate Area)

The quarterly meeting was held at Harrogate Golf Club with president Peter Wildash in the chair.

The meeting was preceded by a competition for the President's Prize which the president presented to John Charlton (Thirsk and Northallerton) who returned 33 points. In second place also 33 points came Alan De Lacy (Oakdale). The third prize with 32 points went to Bob Holmes (Bedale).

Amongst other items the secretary Brian Parker urged member clubs to return their match results within seven days of the game being played as it had been difficult to finalise the results from Sections A and b in order to arrange a final to be played on a neutral course.

He also requested that the results of the Winter League matches should be with him by November 30.

The president reported that the match against Leeds Area which had been played at Pike Hills Golf Club had been halved.

Notification of the annual dinner was given this would be held at Thirsk and Northallerton Golf Club on Friday, November 7 and guests would include the Yorkshire president. Clubs should notify the secretary of their ticket requirements on the forms which were distributed to the club representatives.

The annual general meeting would be held at Harrogate Golf Club on Tuesday, January 13 at 7.15pm.

Dales Alliance

The second match of the autumn series was played at Blackwell Grange and home course advantage gave an eight point lead on the day as follows:

200 points Blackwell Grange, 192 Catterick, 190 Richmond, 187 Bedale, 186 Crook, 192 Thirsk and Northallerton.

The day's prizewinners were 43 points P Maidstone and R Ropner (Catterick), 42 R Severs and K Griffiths (Blackwell Grange), 41 A Thorpe-Lawson and M Ingleby (Blackwell Grange), also K Simpson and R Mawer (Catterick).

In the overall positions after two rounds teams remain in the same position with the exception of Bedale and Blackwell Grange who exchanged places as follows 1563 points Crook, 1524 Richmond, 1507 Blackwell Grange, 1498 Bedale, 1462 Thirsk and Northallerton.
