PENSIONERS are being offered help and advice about the benefits they may be entitled to at an event in Northallerton.
The Pension Credit Awareness Day will be held in the town hall on Wednesday from 10am to 2.30pm.
Local organisations will be at the event to give advice about a wide range of issues including home improvement and insulation grants, help and advice for carers, housing benefit and council tax benefit advice and information about diet, nutrition, exercise, mental health and equipment.
The Citizen's Advice Bureau will also be giving advice about home energy efficiency, together with free low energy light bulbs to people who complete a questionnaire.
