POSSIBLY the richest person ever to set foot on Teesside touched down at the airport yesterday. He stayed less than six hours, and left three points the richer as his football team, Chelsea, beat Middlesbrough 2-1.
Oil entrepreneur Roman Abramovich (right) , who is worth between £1.8bn and £3.8bn, flew direct from Moscow in his private jet. A convoy of three silver BMW cars drove across the apron of the runway to meet him and take him to the Riverside Stadium.
