TWO friends from North Yorkshire have been honoured for their marathon fundraising efforts for charity.
John Bull,, 57, and Doug Wentworth, 50, are both from Ripon and have raised more than £9,000 for the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
John's daughter Alison owns a hearing dog and he has run more than 36,000 miles in ten years to help the charity.
His friend Doug joined him earlier this year to enter the gruelling Zermatt Marathon in Switzerland.
The pair were presented with certificates honouring their efforts at a ceremony at the charity's training centre at Cliffe. Manager Jan Smith said the pair had made an incredible difference to many deaf people's lives.
