Barnard Castle 1 v 0 Fox and Hounds : The bottom two clubs met at Barney and it was the youngsters of Barnard Castle who made the most of the running and were denied a break through a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping.

The second half saw the deadlock broken when Jos Lewandowski won the ball, beat two defenders before playing it to Lee Wardle, who sent a screamer into the top corner from 20 yards to give the Barney boys their first league win of the season. Robert Fell was outstanding for the winners.

Shuttle and Loom 2 v 2 DGSOB

Warren Moncur took advantage of Old Boys' generosity to score twice and give the home side the advantage at the interval which was rough justice on Old Boys' stand in keeper David Challies who almost kept Shuttle at bay. The second half saw Old Boys take charge as they peppered the home team's goal. Tim Burton hit the bar from 30 yards and then had a header cleared off the line before Peter Gray lobbed the keeper to finally pull one back. The equaliser came when Paul Rogers twisted and turned in the box and was felled and Gray stepped up to confidently dispatch the resultant penalty. Shuttle hung on as Grammar pushed for a winner in what was Old Boys' best performance of the season. Mark Sowerby was Old Boys' man of the match with a superb midfield display.

The top two in the league met in the Auckland Charity Cup at Ferryhill and after a goalless first half each side netted an own goal before Grey Horse took the advantage with goals from David Palmer and Darren Tate to take the tie by 3-1 and leave Greyhound to concentrate on the league and Durham Minor Cup.

Newton Aycliffe lost 3-0 at home to West Auckland Queens Head while Killinghall Arms triumphed by the odd goal in seven at home to Stanhope Town. Heighington, who have yet to win in the league, won their second cup tie of the season beating Stanley United 4-2.
