AUTHOR Keith Proud visited a bookshop on Saturday to sign copies of his new book, which charts the history of Durham City.
The book, which is tipped as the local best-seller of the season, is packed with information about the city's culture and heritage.
Mr Proud, who went to the city to train as a teacher and became involved with Radio Durham, was at Waterstone's, in Saddler Street, Durham for the signing.
His book, Durham City, is published by Phillimore.
It tells the story of how Durham evolved, including medieval times when the famed Prince Bishops wielded almost regal power.
