THREE young singers from the North-East have won prizes in a national talent competition.
Sarah Warbey, 15, from Darlington, and Christopher Mitchell, 17, from Durham, won the duet section of the Festival 4 Stars in Glasgow.
The teenagers, who sang Last Night of the World, from the musical Miss Saigon, won a day in a recording studio, a photo shoot, a hotel stay and the chance to sing for guests at a celebration dinner.
Nine-year-old Charlotte Churchman, from Darlington, won the under-12 karaoke section.
All three are students at Darlington Stagecoach. Principal Trudy Hindmarsh said: "This is a wonderful piece of news. It is great when our students do well locally but twice as impressive when they go outside the region and compete at a higher level and still come out on top."
